APX hires new CFO

I saw this morning that APX has hired a new CFO, a guy name Christopher Black, who is new to the security industry. According to the press release, Black has "held a number of senior executive positions for emerging high-growth and mid-cap companies." Most recently, he was SVP and CFO for American Commercial Lines, Inc., a transportation company, where, the release notes "he helped lead the company to one of the most successful initial public offerings in the country during his tenure there." Here's a prepared statement from Todd Pedersen, APX CEO about Black.
“In Chris, we have partnered with an experienced CFO with the experience and skill necessary as we enter a new and exciting period of accelerated growth at APX Alarm,” said APX Alarm CEO, Todd Pedersen. “We believe his extensive business experience and strategic acumen will greatly benefit our organization moving forward.”
Hmmm. It's no surprise that APX is in growth mode. They've got their new fancy campus and a pile of cash in a credit facility, after all. I've got a call into Stuart Dean to see if I can talk to Black today. I'll let you know what I find out.
